UltraDev is the premier visual solution package for designers who
want to create truly dynamic web applications. The UltraDev 4
platform gives you the power and flexibility to build web sites
without having to get your hands dirty with code. Previously
code-centric topics such as database access and manipulation,
creating and verifying user logins and the usage of shopping carts
on web sites can now be fully integrated into your page designs to
create a seamless marriage of style and
substance.
If you think the prospect
of using Dreamwever in an interactive environment is appealing, but
sounds a little too much like hardcore programming, worry no
further. This is a book for designers. It will enable you to build
dynamic content into your site without having to become a full-time
programmer. As a Foundation book, the chapter tutorials are
self-contained and aimed at the beginner. If you are a Dreamweaver
user and want to extend your skills into e-commerce and other
data-driven web applications, this is the book for you.

on other models towards the end of the book. ASP is a Microsoft
product, which means that the book is based around a PC/Windows
user.
The Foundation series is based
on a fully detailed practical tutorial basis and to ensure that this
continues, we've concentrated on the PC user.

4 Star review
"If you need to design a database - supported web site and
familiarise yourself with Dreamweaver, this book will enable you to
program the code needed to produce slick web pages without
relinquishing any design skills.
This manual focuses on the UltraDevelement of the
Macromedia package. You will learn plenty of code, but this is
always in context and well explained. Instead of wondering how
something seems to work, you actually know. Each module builds on
the last until you have a complete set of skills that will enable
you to program your web site and database links effortlessly. If
you're designing with an ASP environment in mind, this is the
perfect book to show you how."
